- Water- and dirt-repellent
- Invisible finish, original appearance preserved
- Very abrasion-resistant
- For natural and synthetic materials
Nitoguard® Textile is a professional, 100% PFAS-free, water-based impregnation treatment designed to make textiles water- and dirt-repellent for a prolonged period. The treatment repels water and helps prevent it from readily penetrating the fabric. It also reduces dirt adhesion, making treated materials easier to keep clean.
The invisible, abrasion-resistant protection preserves the original appearance and texture of the material. Nitoguard® Textile is suitable both for preventive protection of new fabrics and for re-impregnating existing textiles.
Which materials and surfaces can be impregnated?
Nitoguard® Textile is suitable for natural and synthetic materials, including suede, leather, cotton, polyester, nylon and blended fabrics.
The product is suitable for a wide range of professional applications:
- Vehicles: fabric convertible roofs and suitable textile vehicle components.
- Footwear and clothing: suede, leather, textiles and workwear.
- Outdoor textiles: awnings, patio canopies, parasols, tent fabrics, flags and protective covers.
- Interiors: upholstered furniture, sofas, carpets and curtains.
Can new textiles be impregnated preventively?
Yes. New materials can be treated immediately to make them water- and dirt-repellent from first use. There is no need to wait until the fabric becomes dirty or loses its existing protection.
Nitoguard® Textile can also be applied as a protective after-treatment following professional cleaning. The substrate must first be completely clean, dry and absorbent.
How does a water-repellent textile treatment work?
Nitoguard® Textile contains modified polysiloxanes that give the treated material water-repellent properties. Water droplets therefore bead on the surface rather than immediately penetrating the fibres.
The treatment also reduces dirt adhesion. The material retains its original appearance without a visible coating layer.
How do you apply Nitoguard® Textile?
Ensure that the substrate is clean, dry and absorbent. Apply by spraying or dipping. When spraying, work the product into the fibres with a sponge or soft brush.
One saturating coat is generally sufficient. Highly absorbent textiles can receive a second coat within 30 minutes.
Allow the material to air-dry completely and preferably protect it from rain for 24 hours. Do not apply in direct sunlight.
Theoretical coverage is 6–12 m² per litre, depending on the material and its absorbency.
How long will textiles remain water-repellent?
Nitoguard® Textile provides durable, abrasion-resistant protection. Actual service life depends on the material, exposure and maintenance.
The treatment is not resistant to washing or cleaning agents. Re-impregnation may be necessary after intensive cleaning.
